Bayeux is a commune in the Calvados department in Normandy in northwestern France.
As you wander through Bayeux, you'll be transported back in time by the town's well-preserved architecture and rich history. The highlight of your visit will undoubtedly be the Bayeux Tapestry, a nearly 1,000-year-old embroidery that tells the story of the Norman Conquest of England in 1066.
But Bayeux has much more to offer than just its famous tapestry. The town is also home to the stunning Notre-Dame Cathedral, which dates back to the 11th century and features a unique blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture.
