Nerja is a municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It is part of the comarca of La Axarquía. It is on the country's southern Mediterranean coast, about 50 kilometres (31 mi) east of Málaga.

One of the most popular attractions in Nerja is the Balcón de Europa, which is a beautiful promenade that offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. From the Balcón, you can see the Almijara Mountains that surround the town, as well as the many beaches that line the coast. The beaches in Nerja are known for their crystal-clear waters and beautiful white sand, making them the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.

Aside from the beaches, Nerja is also home to a number of historic landmarks, including the Nerja Caves. Discovered in 1959, these caves are one of the most popular tourist attractions in Spain, and they offer a fascinating look at the region's geological history. The caves are also home to a number of prehistoric paintings, which date back over 20,000 years.
