Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.
Amphawa is a district (amphoe) of Samut Songkhram province, at the northwestern tip of the Bay of Bangkok.
Amphawa is known for its charming floating markets, where vendors sell fresh seafood, fruits, and vegetables from their boats. You can take a boat ride along the canal and enjoy the scenery while trying out some of the delicious local food. The markets are especially lively on the weekends when locals and tourists alike come to shop and mingle.
Aside from the floating markets, Amphawa has several other attractions worth visiting. You can explore the local temples, such as Wat Bang Kung and Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram, which both have interesting histories and stunning architecture. If you're interested in learning more about traditional Thai crafts, you can visit the Baan Klong Amphawa Community, where locals make handmade products like pottery, batik, and woven baskets.
