Pondicherry, officially known as Puducherry, is the capital and most populous city of the Union Territory of Puducherry in India. The city is in the Puducherry district on the southeast coast of India and is surrounded by the Bay of Bengal to the east and the state of Tamil Nadu, with which it shares most of its culture, heritage, and language.

When you step into Pondicherry, you'll instantly feel as though you've traveled back in time. The town's streets are lined with colorful villas and colonial buildings that speak to its rich history. The French Quarter, in particular, is a must-visit area with its cobblestone streets, cafes, and boutique shops.

But Pondicherry isn't just about architecture and history. The town is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in India, such as Paradise Beach and Serenity Beach. You can spend your days lounging on the sand, taking a dip in the warm waters of the Bay of Bengal, or even trying your hand at surfing.
