Borgloon is a former municipality and city located in the Belgian province of Limburg. On January 1, 2006, Borgloon had a total population of 10,697. The total area is 51.12 km2 (19.74 sq mi) which gives a population density of 209 inhabitants per square kilometre. Borgloon gave its name to the former county of Loon and was its capital until 1200.

Located in the province of Limburg, Borgloon is a small town with a rich history and stunning landscapes. The town's name translates to "Castle of the Loon," and it was once the site of a medieval castle that has since been demolished. However, you can still see remnants of the castle's moat and a few towers that have survived the test of time.

One of the most striking attractions in Borgloon is the Borgloon Art Tower, a unique structure that combines art and architecture. Designed by Belgian architect Pieterjan Gijs and Dutch artist Arnout Van Vaerenbergh, the tower is made up of 100 stacked layers of steel plates, creating an illusion of a transparent tower that blends into the surrounding landscape. Once you climb to the top, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
