Kaltern an der Weinstraße, often abbreviated to Kaltern or Caldaro, is a municipality and a village in South Tyrol in northern Italy. It is about 12 kilometres (7 mi) southwest of the city of Bolzano.
As you wander through the town's narrow streets, you'll be transported to a bygone era. The architecture here reflects Caldaro's long and storied past, with buildings dating back to the Middle Ages. One of the most impressive is the Castle of Caldaro, which towers over the town and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards.
Speaking of vineyards, Caldaro is famous for its wine. The town is located in a prime grape-growing region, and there are many wineries in the area that are open for tastings and tours. Whether you prefer red or white, sweet or dry, you'll find the perfect wine to suit your palate here.
