Shkodër is the fourth-most-populous city of Albania and the seat of Shkodër County and Shkodër Municipality. Shkodër has been continuously inhabited since the Early Bronze Age, and has roughly 2,200 years of recorded history. The city sprawls across the Plain of Mbishkodra between the southern part of Lake Shkodër and the foothills of the Albanian Alps on the banks of the Buna, Drin and Kir rivers. Due to its proximity to the Adriatic Sea, Shkodër is affected by a seasonal Mediterranean climate with continental influences.

The city is surrounded by stunning mountains and is located near the shores of Lake Shkodër, the largest lake in Southern Europe. Shkodër has a rich history and culture, with archaeological evidence dating back to the Bronze Age.

When visiting Shkodër, you can explore the Rozafa Castle, which dates back to the 4th century BC and is said to be built on the foundations of a Illyrian fortress. The castle offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding mountains.
