Rochdale is a town in Greater Manchester, England, and the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale. In the 2021 Census, the town had a population of 111,261, compared to 223,773 for the wider borough. Rochdale is in the foothills of the South Pennines and lies in the dale (valley) of the River Roch, 5 miles (8 km) north-west of Oldham and 10 miles (16 km) north-east of Manchester.

Rochdale has a fascinating history, dating back to the 13th century when it was granted a market charter by King Henry III. The town became known for its woolen industry during the Industrial Revolution, and today, you can still see remnants of its past in the many historic buildings and landmarks dotted throughout the town.

One of the must-visit attractions in Rochdale is the Rochdale Pioneers Museum, which tells the story of the Rochdale Society of Equitable Pioneers, the first successful cooperative movement in the world. The museum is housed in the original store where the pioneers first set up shop in 1844 and is a testament to the town's progressive spirit.
