Gratteri is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, in the Italian region of Sicily, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) southeast of Palermo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,050 and an area of 38.4 square kilometres (14.8 mi2).
Gratteri is a small village with a population of just over 1,000 people, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in beauty and history. The village is situated on a hilltop, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.
One of the main attractions of Gratteri is the medieval architecture that can be seen throughout the village. The narrow streets are lined with ancient buildings and churches, including the 16th-century Chiesa Madre di San Giuseppe and the 14th-century Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie.
