Cuernavaca is the capital and largest city of the state of Morelos in Mexico. Along with Chalcatzingo, it is likely one of the origins of the Mesoamerican civilization. Olmec works of art, displayed in the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City, were found in the Gualupita III archeological site.
Cuernavaca is known as the "City of Eternal Spring" due to its pleasant climate year-round. The city is surrounded by mountains and lush vegetation, making it a paradise for nature lovers. You can take a stroll through the Borda Gardens, a 19th-century garden with fountains, sculptures, and exotic plants.
If you're interested in history and architecture, there are many sites to visit in Cuernavaca. The Palace of Cortes is a beautiful building that once served as Hernán Cortés' residence. It now houses a museum that displays pre-Hispanic artifacts and colonial-era paintings. The Cathedral of the Asunción is another must-see attraction, with its stunning baroque facade and interior.
