Chandigarh is a city and union territory in northwestern India, serving as a shared capital for the states of Punjab and Haryana. Situated near the foothills of the Shivalik range of Himalayas, it borders Haryana to the east and Punjab in the remaining directions. Chandigarh constitutes the bulk of the Chandigarh Capital Region or Greater Chandigarh, which also includes the adjacent satellite cities of Panchkula in Haryana and Mohali in Punjab. It is located 260 km northwest of New Delhi and 229 km southeast of Amritsar and 104 km southwest of Shimla.

Chandīgarh is located in the northern region of India, and is the capital of two states, Haryana and Punjab. It was designed by French architect Le Corbusier in the 1950s, and is known for its well-planned streets and modern architecture. The city is divided into several sectors, each with its own distinct character and purpose.

One of the most popular attractions in Chandīgarh is the Rock Garden, a massive sculpture garden made entirely out of recycled materials. The garden features over 5,000 sculptures, including waterfalls, bridges, and other structures. Another popular destination is the Sukhna Lake, which offers boating, fishing, and other water activities.
