Copenhagen is the capital and most populous city of Denmark, with an urban population of 1.4 million. The city is situated mainly on the island of Zealand (Sjælland), with a smaller part on the island of Amager. Copenhagen is separated from Malmö, Sweden, by the Øresund strait. One of the things that makes Copenhagen so special is its unique blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication. You can wander through the narrow streets of the city's historic center and marvel at the beautiful architecture, or you can head to the trendy neighborhoods of Vesterbro or Nørrebro and explore the city's vibrant food and nightlife scenes.
