Procida is one of the Phlegraean Islands off the coast of Naples in southern Italy. The island is between Cape Miseno and the island of Ischia. With its tiny satellite island of Vivara, it is a comune (municipality) of the Metropolitan City of Naples, in the region of Campania. It has 9,971 inhabitants.
As you step off the ferry and onto the island, you'll immediately notice the colorful and vibrant houses that line the narrow streets. These houses are painted in pastel hues of pink, blue, and yellow, creating a beautiful contrast against the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Procida's history dates back to ancient times, and the island has been ruled by various civilizations over the years. As a result, the island is home to an impressive array of architecture that reflects its diverse cultural influences. From the Greek-inspired Chiesa di Santa Margherita to the Baroque-style Palazzo d'Avalos, there's no shortage of stunning buildings to admire.
