Cuatro Ciénegas is a city in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila. It stands at an average elevation of 740 metres (2,430 ft) above sea level. The city serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name.

Cuatrociénegas de Carranza is renowned for its pristine desert springs and crystal-clear lagoons, which are fed by underground rivers and surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. One of the most popular attractions in the area is the Poza Azul, a deep blue lagoon that is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The Pozas de Cuatrociénegas National Park, which encompasses over 84,000 hectares of desert and wetland habitats, is home to a wide variety of endemic flora and fauna, including rare species like the Cuatrociénegas turtle and the Mexican blindcat fish.

In addition to its natural wonders, Cuatrociénegas de Carranza also boasts a rich cultural heritage. The town was founded in the 17th century and played an important role in the Mexican War of Independence. Today, visitors can explore historic sites like the San Francisco de Asis Church and the Casa de la Cultura, which showcases local art and traditions.
