Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Carcavelos was, until 2013, a civil parish in the Portuguese municipality of Cascais, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) west of Lisbon. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Carcavelos e Parede. The parish was known for the Carcavelos wine. With the decline of the winemaking industry in the region, the attractiveness of its beaches have made the parish a destination for surfing, due to the waves here.

Nestled between the vibrant city of Lisbon and the popular beachside town of Cascais, Carcavelos is the perfect destination for those seeking a balance of city life and beach relaxation. With a stunning coastline stretching over 1.5 km, this town is a haven for water sports enthusiasts, sun-seekers and nature lovers alike.

The beach at Carcavelos is known for its fantastic waves, making it a popular spot for surfers from around the world. But even if surfing isn't your thing, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy, from stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking, to simply lounging on the golden sands and taking a dip in the refreshing Atlantic waters.
