Slavonski Brod is a city in eastern Croatia, near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. As one of the principal cities in the historical regions of Slavonia and Posavina, Slavonski Brod is the 7th largest city in the country, with a population of 59,141 as of the 2011 census. It is the centre of Brod-Posavina County and a major river port on the Sava river.

As you explore this charming town, you'll be transported back in time to the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, as evidenced by the grand architecture and ornate facades that adorn the streets. In particular, the 18th-century Fortress of Brod stands out as a must-see attraction, with its imposing walls and stunning views of the Sava River.

But Slavonski Brod isn't just about the past - it's also a hub of modern-day activity, with a bustling food and drink scene that rivals some of Croatia's bigger cities. Don't miss the chance to try traditional Slavonian dishes like čobanac (a rich meat stew) or kulen (a spicy sausage), washed down with a glass of locally-produced wine or beer.
