Toulon is a city in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southeastern France. Located on the French Riviera at the eastern extremity of the Gulf of Lion, it formed part of the historical region of Provence. The city functions as the prefecture of the Var department.

One of the main draws of Toulon is its breathtaking coastline. The city is located on the Mediterranean Sea, meaning that visitors can enjoy crystal-clear waters and stretches of golden sand. Some of the most popular beaches include the Plage du Mourillon, which has a lively atmosphere and a range of water sports on offer, and the quieter Anse de Méjean, which is perfect for those seeking a peaceful day by the sea.

For history buffs, Toulon has plenty to offer as well. The city has a rich naval history, and visitors can explore sites such as the Musée National de la Marine, which showcases the city's maritime heritage. The Toulon Cathedral is another must-see attraction, with its beautiful architecture and fascinating history dating back to the 11th century.
