Fanø is a Danish island in the North Sea off the coast of southwestern Denmark, and is the very northernmost of the Danish Wadden Sea Islands. Fanø Municipality is the kommune that covers the island and its seat is the town of Nordby.

The town's main attraction is the Arch of Augustus, a well-preserved Roman triumphal arch that was built in 9 AD to celebrate the Roman emperor's victory over the Illyrians. Other historical sites worth visiting include the Malatesta Fortress, a 15th-century castle that now houses a museum, and the Church of Santa Maria Nuova, a beautiful Gothic-style church that dates back to the 12th century.

But Fano is not just about history. The town's long sandy beach, which stretches for over 7 km, is perfect for a day of sunbathing or swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
