Tavira is a picturesque town with a rich history dating back to the Roman times. Its narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and traditional tiled roofs will transport you back in time. The town is also home to some of the most beautiful churches and chapels in Portugal, including the Igreja da Misericórdia and the Igreja de Santa Maria do Castelo.

One of the main attractions in Tavira is the Tavira Island, a long sandy beach with crystal-clear waters accessible by ferry from the town center. You can spend a day lazing on the beach, swimming in the sea, or exploring the sand dunes.
