The Weinberg Windhoek

Windhoek is the capital and largest city of Namibia. It is located in central Namibia on the Khomas Highland plateau area, at around 1,700 m (5,600 ft) above sea level in the geographical centre of the country. The population was 486,186 in 2023, and growing, due to migration from other regions in Namibia.

As you arrive in Windhoek, you will immediately be struck by its unique blend of cultures and influences. The city is a melting pot of German and African heritage, resulting in a fascinating fusion of architecture, cuisine, and traditions. From the vibrant street markets to the colonial-era buildings, there is always something new and exciting to discover in Windhoek.

One of the must-see attractions in Windhoek is the Christuskirche, a stunning German Lutheran church that is over a century old. Its striking spire can be seen from far and wide, and the interior is equally awe-inspiring. Another highlight is the National Museum of Namibia, which showcases the rich history and diverse cultures of the country. You will learn about everything from the traditional clothing and music to the struggles of the Namibian independence movement.
